Default Big surprise in small ponds

Our Wildlife club has two small ponds, the larger one being maybe an acre or so. One of our member's son is an avid bass fisherman and fishes on his high school fishing team.(Where was this when I went to school?)

Anyway, he and a friend were fishing in our pond today and hooked this buster in about a foot of water. They estimated it at 5-6 lbs and I'd say that looks pretty close, more toward 6 than 5. They released him back into the pond to continue thinning the large population of small bream we have.

I've heard it speculated that the next record bass is probably gonna come from a pond.

It is. Our old location that we lost had two large ones. We planted some at this place when we got it a few years ago.

Wow nice bass that sure put a smile on him. There is something really special about sharing those moments with love ones.

That's a "toad" as the bass fishing folks would say!
