    What's the secret to finding crappie. Can you tell which species you see on fish finder? I just got my first finder for xmas and was testing it out today but as I said earlier it didn't do much for me.

    How deep did you have your bait? Something is wrong with that picture. Lot of people catching fish deep. Did you look in 40 or less for them?

    That's it exactly. I put in at nivens and never went deeper than 38'. Went back out to ebinezier a few days later. I paddled through deeper water and saw some schools just couldn't dial them in. Didn't have any minnows though so I was just using some jigs. I'll figure all this out one day lol

    I was anchored in 22 ft of water and catching the fish at about 18 ft. But I was fishing the power plant and the water is a lot warmer.
