Finally got a couple of pictures to load. Fished for cats with Jeff Tuesday and Wednesday and Inkdabber today for crappie. The cat bite was slow but we managed a few the largest being 28#.
After sitting still all day fishing for cats, today Tim and I fished from Jack's Creek down to Mill Creek and up to Stumphole. The crappie picture is the 7 I kept for Gerald's fish and grits dinner, the other 33 went home with Tim. Actually the 7 shown is my contribution give or take 1or 2. I did catch a good size Blue Cat on my Crappie rod and he stretched all the kinks out of my line.
    Great time fishing and fellowshipping.
Maybe Tim got a picture or two to add. I was too busy trying to catch fish to take many.

It was a tough bite with high pressure and stagnant water conditions. As I always say, "with patience and determination" and fine mess of fish can be had. Fresh, lively minnows would of been a huge asset, but that wasn't meant to be. I bought a half pound and nearly everyone died before we could use them. It was a little warm, but overall the conditions were nice. I didn't take any pics on the day either. But did take a couple while cleaning fish.

i had the same problem with minnws dying before i could use them. You think ice would make them stay alive longer? We always use ice water for night crawlers in mn to keep them lively. Just curious what everyone does to keep them alive.

Cooler water does help, but the biggest problem this time of year is old, diseased bait. The warm water in bait tanks forms bacteria which causes fin fungus, and Ich. Both are fatal and can only be corrected by the bait dealers draining, cleaning, and disinfecting the holding takes. Cooler water will aid in reoccurrence of the bacteria.
