    Default Garmin Striker 4cv

Hello all, I’m still very new to boat ownership and using a depth finder. I have a Garmin striker 4cv that I use on the back of the boat and a Garmin 151dv on the front of the boat. My question is with the striker. Last year I used the fish icons to show when I had located something, but I didn’t feel like they were very accurate. Now I’m trying to use the cv feature to find structure. I went to cave run lake in Kentucky on Sunday and put in the locations of some structure the department had placed using gps coordinates from their website. But when I got to the spots I still couldn’t tell if I was over the structure or not. It all looks the same. An reccomendations in different settings I can try or ways I can get better at telling what’s actually structure without upgrading my units? (I need a new tm first lol)

    Thanks everyone.
    Jesse

with that unit i would rely on the 2d to find structure.

the structure had to be pretty big for my old 43cv to see it on downvu/clearvu

before getting a different transducer for the 4, try to get a striker 7sv instead
