Default Wiring power to a Helix 10 Humminbird

I want to wire power from my boats main cranking battery to my Helix. The boats cranking battery is actually 2 batteries wired parallel. Since parallel is still 12 volts but double the capacity would that be safe for my Humminbird.

Yes, just wire to one battery. Your unit just needs 12 volts and that's all it is going to see. I use 12 gauge wire with a rubber sealable blade type fuse holder right at the battery and run wiring from that to finder. Slide heat shrink over wire, solder connection then seal with heat shrink.
