I had the Lowrance Elite 7 and had nothing but trouble. I went o Garmin but I hear the Lowrance Hook series maybe good! If budget allows I would get down scan.

I went back on LOP on the stumps again. they were kind of biting slow and a lot of dinks, but I wound up with 13. I had a couple of pretty nice ones. They were very scattered and had to keep moving....

I was doing a form of drifting/trolling in and around the stumps. It was the only way I could get anything to bite.
