I've always been rebellious and used wheel weights. So my advice isn't the best. One time I had access to an outdoor range back stop. Picked up some spent bullets and melted them down. They poured fine for me from my Lee bottom pour.
Recycled Melted Bullet Alloy 33 lb Ingot from Roto metals it's 49.99 with shipping included wondering if this would be good for pouring 1/8 and 1/16 round jig heads and pony heads ?

Nothing wrong with the OLD tire weights but if you try and get some today you have to be really careful of the zinc ones - they'll contaminate your lead and you'll have a mess.
I have a lot of older tire weights that I've got cleaned and I run a mix of 2 parts tire weight lead to 1 part pure lead and I can pour down to 1/32nd
