nice mess of fish,i never relly could get gills and crackers to take jigs, any tips?
I have caught some really good bluegills, redears and crappie in the same places on KY Lake using a 1/32 pink jighead with a 1" solid white curly tail. I fish it under a very small bobber and with a small splitshot about 6 inches above the jig. I fish it reasonably slow but keep it moving most of the time. If I have the boat sitting in 8 feet of water I set the bobber at 6 feet and cast toward the bank or across a point if one is near for redears and gills. If I'm targeting crappie, I'll make a pass across the area I want to fish with the trolling motor and watch the graph for fish suspended or brush/stakebeds at a particular depth. I then set the bobber depth at that or a foot or so above the suspended depth. I've caught bass, yellow perch, yellow stripes, and channel cats along with the target species using this tactic.

Casydrew, I'm thinking I and my buddy seen you lads briefly in the little store at Irvine Cobbs Marina. My buddy is a big guy and I'm ---just old. lol
If you were the lads, you caught a decent bass off shore in the little bay by Cobbs.
Sure neat you done well as did we.I was using 1/80 oz. kiptail (calf tail) jigs #8 hook I tie tipped with wax worm. My buddy was favoring a #8 long shank hook with big red worms frm a local roadside place called Rexs Worm Ranch .(Super nice fella)We both done well, but he done much better on the red ear w/red worms.
You lads have that eletric knife down pat. You may not realize how few folks take the time to master it for panfish.
The day after we seen you was cold, rain and wind, We got near 300 mix of gills, red ear and a couple Kentucky bass. Hot bite daylight to dark and nearly froze to death. lol
