    Default Combo trip

Picked up my brother this morning and took him to the WMA (Wildlife Management Area) that has a shooting range and PFA (Public Fishing Area) .
Got to shoot my Ruger Single Nine and my 4 7/8” barreled Single Six .
Afterwards we had lunch in the shade and then I got a chance to fling a 1” curly tail for a little over an hour .
I caught 15 small gills and redbreast , and one small bass .
All were caught on my 5’5” Daiwa Aging rod , paired with a Daiwa Fuego 1000LT with J-braid .
I didn’t have any wind knots today but , I did have an issue with the braid bunching up at the stripper guide .
I think that is what was causing the wind knots yesterday.
The stripper guide is just too small .
The Fuego will be swapped to a 5’ St Croix Premier ULM .
I’ll have to use my Aging rod with Floroclear and hope it doesn’t have the same issue .
The fish were small , but there were some really colorful ones .

That’s a good trip to me. A real pretty rig, shame it doesn’t work perfect like it looks. Maybe small mono would behave better?

I’ll be trying it with some 2# Floroclear next time I take it out .
Tomorrow I’ve got a Major Craft Mountain steam that came today that needs a good slimming.
