And the sad part is the new owners probably don't even fish.

Actually I think they are anglers. I will take a pair of binoculars to the gate and scan the lake. I’ve seen a couple fishing in a boat…rods bent and bluegill and crappie being landed…and put on a stinger…as best as I can tell pretty nice size fish. Of course it could not be the owners out there fishing. Of course I have no way of knowing who it really is. I just know it sure is tempting to go fish when I make that walk up to that gate and look at that lake. But I respect a persons property and will just observe it from afar. I’ll only be tempted for another week and I’m out of here….LOL…new home will be finished Monday.

Have moved multiple times in 32 years of teaching /coaching . Best plan to get permission is not to ask owner to fish his "but " invite him to fish with you elsewhere .Once you become become better friends rest is history . lol

Lost count of moves I’ve made…7 years in Army…then 21 years working in Saudi….working and residing at all 10 locations in country. Not to mention the many schools located back in the states. Which were a welcome break from Saudi but it was a new home each time nevertheless. Then I think I had 6 more moves from 2001-2015. And now for sure this one is the final move. I don’t live at this place. It is temporary. As a matter of fact close on new house on Thursday. Which means I’m getting closer to getting back to fishing….and since I’ll be in the new home can start my new boat search. While I certainly would have loved to fished this lake it is time to move on. It is really not feasible now to get permission as my new home is 40 miles from here. It is been a hoot picking out everything for the new home from door knobs to sinks and really just about everything in the build. As much fun as that has been it is going to be more fun picking out a new boat. Ready to also get back to buying fishing gear. Never thought in building a new home it would take up as much of my time as a full time job. Bought quite a few homes over the years but this is the first build from ground up. Time now to find all the crappie and bluegill spots close to me…Life is good!

Sounds like torture to me to be so close to a private honey hole like that.
Ketchn thanked you for this post
God Bless you and your new digs Randy. All the help youve given everyone here, you deserve a nice one. Sounds like someone didn’t honor that landowners wishes. Happens all the time here. No such thing as a dove shoot here either. I have surgery on Friday and a couple of weeks recovery and I’ll finally get to use the new to me boat too. Ramps are just now starting to open up since the storms. You’ll get to go through the punch out phase before you sign off on it. I hope that goes smooth for you, that was my job before I got out of the building trades. With a good contractor it’s a walk in the park good luck with it all and then the discovery of all the new waters begins. I know you’re anxious.
