There ya go!
Our annual bream episodes are underway starting yesterday . In between rain storms we hit em in a traditional method of worm tidbits on small jigheads . We set our depths at about 3 to 4 foot under fixed floats and gave them a good early work out . They were for sure in decent numbers and we pitched bait at em for about 2 hours off the bank .
They are holding right off the crappie beds about 20 foot out in around 6 to 8 foot of water . The crappie are still busy though in short water and the bream are not invited to the party . A few crappie managed to get on the jigs during this little adventure as well along with what is a surprise red ear . We have only seen 2 red ears in this lake in years of hitting it and it makes us smile to see one for sure .
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm after work and the water in this little lake remains gin clear even during the recent storms . fish are right spooky and I imagine if I didn't have on a bright yellow shirt I would have managed a lot more fish ....
Still ketched me a bunch but was having a difficult time hanging with my bud who was wearing camo ...
he flat tore them up in record fashion compared to my meager 35 or so .
stay tuned and have a great day
p.s. bass were hitting our floats as well and I managed one of them as well .....
