Default Slider, Fle-fly, and Road Runner

All three are site sponsors, all have been around forever. I set out last year to see if I was missing out on using a great bait . I decided to put them in a head to head trial ,to see who would be the winner . The Slider family has been a staple for me for years (especially the 1 inch). I used only the 1/8 or 1/16 till getting hooked on the 1/32 while using a 1 inch Slider (mainly black). Then I was looking through the u-tube fishing section and discovered the go-go minnow . I heard for years about how live bait was the best way to catch large red ear . Many of the old timers that fish Tippah , Trace, Elvis Presley, Lake Monroe,Lake Lee(now Lamar Bruce)Had convinced me that besides wearing overalls and a straw had with the green visor built in, live bait was a must . I moved back to the Northeast 8 years ago and have picked up the passion again of red ear fishing. After a year long study I am ready to announce the true winner ! It is ----------"Me" . Fish these three baits as they are sold "or"mix match them up with a slider or a go-go minnow on a 1/32 roadrunner head you are going to love the results . Likewise a Road Runner that is dressed at the factory needs no help enticing a bull red ear to nail it . If you have been led to believe that live bait is the only answer think again . If you like Road Runners ... keep your eyes on the Contest Forum. In the next few months I will have a RR contest that includes 31 total pieces, several of which are the Natural Science Series (tube body on RR head) and the Gold Series (feather/chenille).

I wish i could say ive caught panfish on any of those. Try as i may (and trust me i have tried MANY different types) it just wont happen for me lol. I can take 4 rods out, rig up 3 with artificial and 1 with live, let the live bait sit on the bottom while i float 1 artificial, cast/retrieve another and let the 3rd sit on the bottom with the live bait and only get hits/hookups on the live. Case in point last sunday at buzzard roost in greenwood. Every one of these white perch took the worm. I keep trying though. I am with you Coach, I only fish artificial baits, and do very well. I do love to catch red ears, the best tasting fish.

I am primarily single pole jig guy but will use them if bite isn't happening and they are available readily. All the guides have minnows but will use jigs too.

90% of everything I fish in freshwater is a Roadrunner/Slider combination. 5% is jighead/slider and 5% is other. Guess I like sliders and Roadrunners as well.

You just cannot go wrong with a CB Slider and/or a Road Running in any of it's configurations. They are a staple in our arsenal. About even up with BG BS straight tails. If I have these three with me, I know I'm going to score heavily.
