I have gotten a few reports they are getting some nice jumbos in erie right now, perch spawn around the same time as the walleye do. I dont have a big enough boat to get out on the big lake but when they are in spawn mode they will move in to shore closer and can be caught from some of the peirs up that way. i plan on making a trip in a week or two gonna do a combo perch/crappie trip. hit the bays and get some slabs to go with the perch fillets! I hear they are getting them around the island and also marblehead. Getting good fish between 9'' and 13''. I dont know what depths but would start deep and work shallow. shinners are the ticket.

We're pounding them right now in CT .
They're up on their spawning areas and loaded with eggs .
Tasty little devils , kept about 30 the other day , ate few and gave some fillet away .
Some nice pike as a bonus on the light tackle make it more interesting where we fish .

They skin like walleye because walleye are perch. Around here yellow perch are hard to come by. Lucky to catch 2 or 3 while fishing for crappie or blue gill near the bottom. Taste great.
    Happy Hooken.....
