Would this "Toyota rustbucket" happen to have a camper shell on it? If so, I seen that truck parked on the right when you pull into lot. I was in a white Tundra parked behind you kinda near the boats in the middle of the lot. If thats not you, then someone else has a truck matching your description but with a camper shell.

Camper shell and rack. That makes me very easy to spot. But there are a lot of white Tundras. But next time I see one, I'll be sure to look for you.

Took my 14 yr old out to catch the evening bite. We fished various banks from 6:15 - 10:00, caught a lot of small fish but only 4 keepers ( >10” for me). My son landed an 8” fish, and after returning it to the lake, he noticed he had orange eggs all over his hands. I’m new at this crappie thing, so I’m not sure what to make of that...do smaller fish generally lay before the bigger ones, or is size irrelevant regarding when they lay?

Went to Blackwell yesterday. Got out a little later, about 4pm.
Fished the dock for a bit but not much. Went to the north side of the jetty on the rocks and right away I was getting bites.
Caught a few but only one over 10 inches. Had a few bigger ones on that I lost. Seems like they are moving in shallow. Should be spawning soon.
Did catch a nice saugeye, maybe 4 lbs, casting a tube jig tipped with crappie nibbles along the shoreline.
I had planned on targeting saugeye at sun down but not a hit other than the 1 lucky fish.
Thing tonight I'm going to try the tip of the jetty across from the dock.
Need to get a boat lol

Bigger fish will spawn first. With the weather we've had you may see anything.

Does anybody know of any back roads that I could drive in to the north or west side of Carl Blackwell.
I'm looking for some different access areas to try fishing from shore.

Fishing really picking up the last few days.
Caught about 30 in two hours tonight.
Lots of dinks but kept 6. Probably could have kept 5 more of that were close to 10 inch.
Third straight time getting a bonus Saugeye.
Gotta start targeting Saugeye after sunset.

Of the six crappie I kept only one was female.
Last couple days 80% have been males.
Getting ready to spawn but not quite there yet.

Any size to the saugeye? If I recall, they’ve gotta be 18” to keep at LCB.

    And thanks for the reports!

Got about 25 crappie, kept 14, up to 13". Lost 5 really nice fish. Must be getting old, or I need to get back to using sickle jigs all the time. Did better before dark this time. Brown/orange hair jig got nearly all of the fish. Ran into a friend I haven't seen for a couple of years.
