This may help to get people started on a pattern. I fished the big E recently in some standing timber areas. There were schools and scattered fish from 15 to 2 feet, mostly small fish in the deeper areas. If you see fish schooled up on timber or brush at 7-12, don't even bother with them, they are dinks. Best fishing for decent fish was 4'-6' right on the timber in 5.5-6.5 feet of water. It payed to drive around and check with your finder before you fish, I hit a hundred yard stretch that had a fish or two on each tree at 5.5' to 6.5. I could clearly see the fish on the finder and that they were bigger than the average for that day. Mid lake clarity was 2 foot up the timbered arms I checked it was 6-8 inches.
