Welcome to Oklahoma, guys! I'm not an Oologah fisherman but have had good success longlining a few miles south of there on Eufaula. My favorite colors are pretty much as rdjj71m said in the post above with a pumpkin/chart/chart head bps 3" triple ripple at the top of the list. Just gotta experiment during the day. Down here we tend to use larger plastics than a lot of other areas do. Hope to get to Tulsa to visit with you.

Sure wish you guys could work in a little time on Fort Gibson while your in town, it's not far from Oologah or Bass Pro in B.A. for that matter. It would be nice to have some alternate feed back from different water instead of just one lake.

Brad, spoke with Dollahon about what's recent on Oologah. Call me at 918-850-2642 if you like. I'll be on the water Saturday and Sunday.
Was hoping to be one of the Okies Challenged, but I figure I'm challenged enough. Can't make it on the water Monday, but plan to attend the BPS event. See you cat daddies there!

Welcome guys, great to hear you guys are coming to Oologah. Only long lined a few times on Oologah but I did catch a few fish. I would recommend you try Blue Creek, Talalla creek, Spencer Creek or the area just south of the Sunnyside ramp. The rip rap along Winganon bridge and the south side of Goose island and the bluffs just west of there have good potential too. All those areas hold good fish. Best colors and baits would be a Orange head with a Bobby Garland slab slayer in pumpkin and chartreuse, Orange head with orange and chartreuse Bobby Garland Minnow minder or tube jig, Orange head with Bobby Garland Baby shad in Licorice and Orange head with Slab Slayer in black and chartreuse. Notice the pattern there with the orange head? If you can't catch anything on those its time to quit long lining and fish brush piles like most of us locals. Gotta work tomorrow, but I'm a phone call away if you run into trouble and need help, 918-260-5871. Good luck, hope you guys catch some good ones!

Definitley need to try the winganon bridge. With this rain today there will be some current under the bridge and they always seem to suspend on the corners/pillars or somewhere close by.

Looking forward to meeting up with Brad and Brandon to discuss areas, baits, danger areas on Lake Ft Gibson. Yes Gibson has been added to the challenge and will be fished tomorrow. See you guys in a bit and excited about swapping ideas vs our lakes and yours.......Ranger
