Gen 3 Lowrance HDS Locator?
I was about to pull the trigger on a new Lowrance Gen 2 HDS unit when it struck me that it's possible that a Gen 3 is coming soon which would save me some money on the " obsolete" Gen 2. Does anybody know about plans to introduce this product soon? I won't be back in the USA until February 2015 but I'm looking to move on this for my kid's sake, hoping they will figure it out and be ready to tutor me when I get back. If you can steer me to the least expensive place to buy that would be a bonus. Thanks guys.

Thanks Frank. I'm pretty slow- never even considered e-bay but I will now! Sorry I wasn't more clear about my hope to save my marriage by saving money as I just figure once the Gen 3 hits the Gen 2 will quickly drop dramatically in price and I will snap it up. How is the touch screen working out for you? I am hoping that it is dinosaur friendly cause I am seriously techno challenged. Seriously.

I bought the 000-10871-001 Lowrance Hds-10 Gen2 Insight Usa With Lss-2 Bundle 000-10871-001 for 1769.oo $ at okefenokeeoutdoors.com. That price included a 300.oo $ re bait from Lowrance. Included the Unit, transducer, structure scan module and map pack. The cheapest place to buy this kind of stuff is usually the online stores but you have to make sure they are reputable companies. GPS city, universal mania, okefenokee outdoors ect.

I have wondered the same. I have plans of getting me a HDS by spring next year. Hope the next gen comes out in hopes of another price drop. Of course they are pretty cheap now compared to what the were a year or two ago.

Rumor from the Mother Board is look for an announcement and price break on November 17 so I am holding out til then. I haven't even put my hands on one yet so the spotlight option is a complete mystery to me but I will beware of it!
