Smoky, Thanks for the tip, I tried that low water bridge last year and couldnt get any action but will continue to do so. When you say head north are you talking about the road right along the lake that deadends about two miles or so?
Hotrod2, About mid April... depth depends on conditions... generally 3 to 4 ft around the rocks. Mainly using minnows but will throw a small spinner or jigs around that area... If you keep going north, there are some trees up in there... I usually do pretty good up in there...

yessir... the road that goes over the low water bridge...
Claremore doesn't let you put any structure in the lake and the lake has silted in so bad you can't find the creek channel the only structure in the lake is around the docks. They did let the Claremore teachers put some in as a project for the students but didn't gps them or tell anyone were their at.
The heated dock is okay. There are usually 5 to 10 people on that dock and I feel that is just two many. If you follow the road past the heated dock until the road runs out there is a pipe that dumps water into the lake. I hit it yesterday and did pretty well. The North side of Claremore Lake in notorious for small crappie.

Dropped by and fished the dock yesterday afternoon. There was probably 12 people there, crowded inside so I fished outside caught a lot of smalls on BG salt and pepper. Ranger stopped by and told me Dec. 20th a guy caught a 3lb 2oz black crappie at the dock.
Wow! Haven't heard about that.
I'll probably head back out there this weekend if the roads are not iced up. Did the Ranger say what he was using? I watched a youtube video last night and the guy tested use a Canadian night crawler with a colorado spinner attached just above the worm and a float vs. two different colored maribu jigs. The worm rig out fished the jigs by like 3 to 1 the crappie would hit the jig and not come back but they would latch onto the worm and not let go.
The set up was similar to this:
But he just had one hook and maybe half of the Canadian night crawler. The spinner made the flash as he would just reel it in real slow.
I didn't ask what he was using. Actually talked to the man and he just opened up a new bait shop in Claremore down by Charlies chicken. He said he is only open fri sat sun now till it gets warmer. Guess he is fishing the dock a lot. Did tell me he just got the fish lipped and hook fell out. Lucky guy.
