My wife banished my "fishing crap" to the converted attached garage. At least I have room and a very nice Sun Twin space heater. Some of the jigs that I tied while it was cold have really produced a lot of fish. Probably have to post a pic or two.

I already posted a new thread with this pic and a description of the materials that were used. I've also done really well with some standard-type jigs, including pink estaz/green chartreuse marabou and brown chenille/pink hair with flash. I've also tried two new ones that turned out to be duds. Hope to see you again, maybe this summer at a crappie camp. I really enjoyed riding with you in your boat at Skiatook. A lot of great guys at that camp.

Since it's sorta show & tell time here are a few of the ones that kept me occupied during the 6 degree wx that prompted this thread initially. These are all with standard tying material except a couple in the box that are red and white. The white is some hair off Emma, the West Highlands White Terrorist (don't tell my wife!) The Clouser minnow and other streamer work great as the upper hook on a double minnow rig. I tend to prefer feather tails but do use maribou and craft hair. I'm a lot slower with these old arthritic hands than I used to be. Hope to hit Thunderbird in a couple days to test my new front unit. I've still got to install the transducer and tape up wires tomorrow. Then I may be at 10killer the week of the 15th (if the weather forecast holds.)

Y'all have made some really nice looking jigs. I have threatened to make some clousers for fly fishing, even putting a video on making clousers in my favorites on the PC. The guys in Montana do really well with them for trout. I've watched the big boys use them for bass, smallmouths, walleyes, hybrids, and sandies at Hefner, with good success.
Fishers, is that brown jig with the yellowish, orange, brown tail tied with fox fur?

Nice box there Iken, full of goodies! Bigsky, that tail fur for both the brown bodied flies is dyed rabbit strips from bass pro. They are sold for tying zonkers and big bass flies. They have a very durable dye and are barred with black stripes after they get the color on. The middle left red and white striped one is arctic fox dyed red on the tail, it has incredible movement in the water. All the striped ones have an under-body of polar ice dubbing that is picked out after the colored chenille is wrapped over the top to make the stripes. All Tails have a few strips of flashabou in them. Tail materials on some include marabou, dyed elk and spectra hair (nice movement too).
