    Default Helix 5 DI GPS

Finally pulled the trigger and got a new depth finder with GPS. I don't fish from our pontoon boat, so the GPS and channel maps were most important to me. BP had a sale on a combo of the unit along with the Navionics+ card. So I pulled everything off the boat that had gone with the Matrix 15 (gave that to a friend's son to put on his little fishing boat) and I installed the Helix 5. I started to go with the Helix 7, but the space on the helm would have made the head unit stick out in the way of someone walking by the helm. Looking forward to trying it out for the first time this weekend. My previous Navionics app was on my phone so it was really hard to see in the sun and the screen is really small.

The new depth finder worked perfectly! I had to download the map for Eufaula onto the Navionics+ card. The channel contours were very detailed. The color screen was very easy to see in the bright sun. Very impressed with the unit and I'm glad i finally picked one up.
