Got to CJ no bait on the wall so we headed back to Goose Island first fish in the boat was an 8# Channel Cat we only put 10 fish total in the boat with the last one a 6 inch Crappie that took a whole big Shad head how he got that head and hook down his throat have no idea, Daniel and I were still shaking our heads, water was up high and it was the first time that I was able to get my big boat back behind the islands but we found no fish back there water temp at 75.2 degrees, Rocky Fork has spoiled me so I think from now on I'll make the 1 hour drive down there ................Doc

Just left CJ to pick up Dale from practice....caught fish from 5:30 till after 7:30 on glow colors again...they would not hit anything else! 😆
Switched jig heads and it didn't matter...switched colors and they'd stop biting until you put glow back on....water is dark from algae!
The Only technique they would hit the glow on was bouncing it off they bottom, or stopping, starting, and twitching...they wouldn't hit anything constantly moving.
Only had 5 big fish out of 43....largest was 12.
Water was calm, no boats out, until the big block speed boat came out as I was leaving...kayakers were out in the middle of the lake...no one bank fishing either.
    Good to get out again!

Come-on Doc, don't let Mother CJ get the best of ya!

Also Posted my homemade salsa pic from yesterday, dark areas is before I mixed the herbs in...went today and got chips from El Toros. 20 big tomatoes were diced for this bowl...delicious!

I picked up a 12v green LED submersible light at Cabela's. Can't wait to give it a try at CJ to see if I can coerce a nite bite.

spider rigged friday from 8am till 12 only had 10 crappies and 1 cat marked lots of fish and shad, the only thing they would hit was road runners with lake fork paddle tails, water 76 and very calm, when we picked up the speed on the trollen motor we instantly caught fish, iam ready to try another lake.

I have only been having luck with a super slow erratic retrieve....and bright colors! I know it works because I'm trying everything else and different techniques also...jig head choice doesn't matter, I have been using plain heads, roadrunners, and beetle spins....they all work if you use a Fluorescent color or glow. Instead of giving up, try something different...if you need help, just ask! I can teach anyone how to toss a swimmer and make it act erratic...vertical jigging is also good right now...or just a plain old bobber setup.
The hard part is finding fish...you did that....now set the dang bait on their nose! lol

I went to CJ last night to try out the light. I tried in a couple different areas of the lake but didn't really draw any bait fish. In one location I did see a couple of small fish swim through. Not sure what the small wigglers are that were attracted. No minnows showed up. Mostly just thin wisps of green in the water. I figured that this might just be algae?
