You say in another thread you have caught 6 crappie over 3 pounds the last 3 years. I don't think you need any help if that is true. Most crappie fisherman fish there whole lives and never catch a 3lb crappie.

It would take 50 crappies out of EF to make 3#.

I have caught 6 crappie over 3 pounds but that's in a pond that I've been fishing my whole life and I found the grapple by chance and I've probably caught 1000 crappie over the years but in the last 4 years the slabs started showing up I am asking the best way to seek them out in a new unfished pond in that aspect I'm a newby and as far as the 3lbers go I'm lucky still would like some help or some more criticism if that's all I can get

I don't think anyone is criticizing you, we're all jealous. We want lessons.
If it were me, I'd start out fishing jig and cork about 12" deep and then maybe work deeper. If that didn't pan out, I'd go to swimming a jig.

In a pond, there's a good chance you're talking white crappie. This time of year, those fish may be dead to the bottom in the deepest hole of the pond, especially if there's no structure in it, like alot of ponds. Pitch a jig to the center of the hole and creep it along, barely lifting it 3-6" off bottom with each pull. For whites, I'd tip it with a small plastic or minnow--your choice. Later, what crappiemax said.

Ask your buddy if you can lay some brush in from the bank. Start by laying some in the shallows 2-4', next 6-10'. Build it and you will know exactly where to fish and how deep. They will show up in a mater of days!

thanks for the tip doug there is a bit of cover in the shallows and that will be a definate place to start. I primarily fish tube juig and bobber ive never tried tight lining or anything like that and i was just wondering if there was a better method than making ten thousand casts but i guess there isnt guess i was just looking for the easier way out... lol i will try everyones techniques even the 6 inch purple bass worm with the drop shot with the pink weight on the green line with the barbie pole if it helps me find the SLABS ill let ya all know ill be hitting the water tomorrow after work to try out the new spot and ill hit them with the kitchen sinkwish me luck
