Check at Goshen Springs to see if we can get into one section. N1-N7/MR1-MR15 loop has the pavilion which would be a walk away from our campers.
Alright fellas, mark your calendars! The Barnett Bash will be held the weekend of April 22, 2017 on the beautiful Ross Barnett Reservoir in Jackson, MS!
For the RV/tent crowd, you have two convenient options.
Goshen Springs Campground - Goshen Springs
Timberlake Campground - Timberlake Campground
I will try to keep all official events on the north end of the lake adjacent or near too the Goshen Springs site. However, Timberlake is only a short drive away.
For anyone else seeking lodging, there are several options for hotels in the area. All within minutes of the lake and no more than a twenty minute drive to the potential event sites. PM me and I will send you a list of links of local hotels. Many hotels have room for boats/trailers, anyone not able to park their boat over night, please contact me and. we will work on getting you a place to safely park your boat.
Tentative Itinerary of events is as follows.
Friday - April, 21
Meet and greet dinner and lake review. I encourage all to attend. Mix and mingle and we can discuss the recent lake patterns. Barnett can be tricky to navigate, plenty of obstructions sit just below the waterline at normal pool. Don't be a chump and get hung on a stump(or lose your lower unit) it happens to the best of us.
Saturday - April 22, 2017
Sunrise-ish - Ramp meeting Goshen Springs Landing. Bait/supplies/breakfast available at Tommy's Trading Post adjacent to the ramps. Great chance to support a local landmark.
Fishing
Afternoon - Main event - Potluck/Fish fry. Tentative short fishing seminars from our Tournament/Senior anglers and Fisheries Wildlife personnel. Family, fellowship, and fun.
Sunday
Coffee/Donuts at the ramp and enjoy another day on the water. For anglers staying through the weekend we can organize a dinner in the Campground or at a local restaurant.
I will update everyone as events become set in stone.
Plenty of you have comments and messaged me offering help and support. THANK YOU! Give me a few days to organize my thoughts and I will begin contacting each of you.

I will call them and see if we can hold any open spots for that area for the dates surrounding the event. That would be a good area. I'm not sure about the size or capacity of the pavilion there and what it takes or of its possible to reserve it. Browns landing is only a three minute drive down the highway and has a large pavilion that would serve our needs well too.

The Goshen Springs brochure says 4248 Hwy 43 N, 39042. I enter that on map quest and it sends me near Puckett, MS, 4248 Hwy 43 S. I entered it again and the zip code changed to 39047. Directions are to exit I-55 at Canton, Nissan Pkwy to Hwy 43, to campground, 183 miles.
My address to Ridgeland is 182 miles, Trace Pkwy to campground is 18 miles, 200 miles total.
Campground check-in after 3 pm, check-out before 3 pm.
They have camper rental, check-in after 4 pm, check-out before 11 am.
Have to ask about fire pits.

39047 is correct. If you have trouble with the address you can use Tommy's Trading Post's address next door. If you came down the Natchez Trace from up north you would exit at HWY 43 and turn east towards the lake. Browns Landing ramp and park (Pavillion) is about 100 yards from here. Continue east on 43 for maybe two or three miles and you will see the park on the left hand side of the road once you cross the bridge. Can't miss it really. Tommy's Trading post is right there and Goshen Springs Landing just outside the park's gate is a rather large area with 3 different multi lane ramps.
From I-55 you would get off at either HWY 22 - Canton, MS (there are a couple of hotels at this exit) or Nissan Parkway (fastest route) and head east both roads will dead end into Hwy 43. Turn right(south) and continue to the park. About 13 miles total once you leave the interstate.
Either way, if you hit Hwy 25 you've gone too far.
Grills are provided and open pit fires are allowed with managers approval (barring no burn ban or anything)

There are a few camper spots now behind the boat repair place across from Tommys. Saw them when I had my boat in for repairs last summer.

Don is right. That is Sunrise Marina over there. Just across the highway from Goshen Springs Landing/ Tommy's Trading Post. I usually turn off just before I get to it and guess I haven't noticed them before. Thanks Don!
Here is the link. RV Park and Slips - Sunset Marina
I'll try and give her a call tomorrow to see what the scoop is.

There used to be a private campground on hwy 471 a mile or so from the Goshen Springs campground and Tommy's Trading Post but before you got to hwy 25. Don't know if it's still open or not, maybe some locals can tell us.
