I fish a small 12 acre lake and its stacked with HUGE shad. I only noticed them this winter using an aquavu. They all look to be about 15 inches and they stay in schools of about 20-25. Does anyone know how to catch them through the ice? They wont look at any of the normal (crappie) ice tackle.

I've caught them by mistake fly fishing for trout with a micro minnow I tie, on a similar sized lake too. 12" long.
