Default Longlining paddle tails or curly tails

I got these mr crappie slabalicious paddle tails. I love shooting docks with them because of the action of that tail. Any one pulling with them? Or should I just stick to good ole curly tails? Any advice appreciated Name: IMG_0331.JPG

I never really liked "curly tails" because there was always the tendency for the tail to get wrapped around or stuck on the hook point. I don't "Longline" troll very often, and when I do it's usually one pole in hand & a Road Runner on.

I do, however, Push jigs often ... and use a variety of body styles. One of my more favorite body styles is the boot tail shape (what you refer to as "paddle tail"). The 2" Slabalicious is one of those I use, but I prefer the "Booty Shaker" by Slabanator Jigs. Slabanator Jigs are custom made by the Member Sponsor known as "Slabeye" (Rodney Goforth) on this site. Rodney makes an excellent product & in colors that you won't find in commercially made plastics. He primarily uses his own products when fishing for fun or in the Crappie USA tourneys ... and recently won their Classic Championship trophy.

Check out his products on the Member Sponsor Classifieds (but look at both the new thread & the "old" closed thread to see all the various colors and shapes he makes)

Longline troll with them all the time. Not that brand but still paddletails. Ones I use are 1.75" long and a bit smaller in size.
