Tried lake gaston last month, i must say not alot of marks on the fish finder, i will never go back.
I skipped about 25 different docks from Jimmie's and Peahill creeks and another cove that had docks in about 10 feet of water on average. I caught 0 Crappie and threw 4 different colors trying to get a strike. I ended up with a couple Bass, a few bream and 3 nice size Raccoon perch. I think the Crappie either died or they moved to a different lake. At least the boat traffic wasn't to bad, the water was flat and skipping a jig was easy.

Hope you get your medication worked out so it makes you feel better and fishing longer into the day. I know the struggle, I have high blood pressure and arthritis. I also had a knee replacement in January. I'm 53 and the struggle is real. The crappie seem to be on the opposite page from me most of the time but I keep trying. I heard Tar River Reservoir had a good crappie population and have been thinking about driving down there.
mustfish, have not been to rocky mount reservoir in pass 5 years but it use to be good
