Default Epic day on High Rock 2/23

Had an epic day last Friday on High Rock. Found fish in the back of a cove in Abbotts Creek in 1 - 3 foot of water. All caught casting jigs. Must of caught at least 100 fish including bass and white bass. Brought 40 crappie home with the largest weighing 1.9 lbs Water temperature ranged from 55 - 60

Congratulations on the fish. I talked to the game warden last year about the white bass in HR. I thought i had caught some and he told me they were white perch. He said that they hadn't stocked any in there in some years now. Nice looking spotted bass also.

Don't always believe what a game warden tells you. I've caught white bass out of Abotts creek for many years. Yes, There are plenty of white perch in HR but white perch don't get as big as a white bass. I've even caught large white bass trolling for stripers. White bass will have faint lines running down their sides. White perch may have one, maybe two at the most barely visible.

True. Ask the guys that fish way up the river about White Bass. They are still in High Rock.
