    Default Fishfinders????

Anyone steer me in the right direction on a good fishfinder in the 500-700 price range. Would appreciate your advice.

Just bought a striker 7 cv by Garmin for my TM. Have not used it yet but several who have like them and they are in the 350 range. Lots of units in the price range you mention. Just determine what you need the unit to do and shop around. Good luck.

Look at the Garmin Echomap series. I like my 73sv. I also have a Garmin Striker up front.

The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

I've had a Hummingbird Helix and a Garmin 73SV. I much prefer the Garmin, as the Hummingbird interface is not user friendly. Garmin is going to touch screens next year, so the price on the 73SV may drop below the $600 sale price it has been running.

Once you decide what you want, tacklewarehouse.com will probably have a 25% off sale for black friday.

If you're a veteran, send them your DD214 and get another 10% off.

I have had both Humminbirds and Garmins. If you want one with mapping, Garmin's maps are the best, at least for my area, central Arkansas. If you don't care about maps, it would be hard to be one of the Garmin Strikers. I think a Striker 9sv would be in your price range, 9 inch screen, side view, and it has a "create your own map" feature.
