    Default Same lake different approach

Went back to same 30 acre lake but our MTL host had chores to do and couldn't make it. Had Macon bud bring breakfast sandwiches but he is always lil slow in morning. So we where we had KABOOM yesterday was within bank range I figured out how to drive my car across field to spot.

Bymo and I started casting and I had bobber on and went farther. Started whacking them from get-go but had to be out as far as I could toss and bringing it back slowly. One after another nice eaters went on stringer 9+ to 12 inches all black crappie. Bymo wasn't and I finally noticed he didn't have bobber and tossed him one of mine and he immediately started casting farther and joined in ketchn.

They wernt everywhere there like yesterday but in one area. Had a dozen by time breakfast arrived w my bud and his funky metal ANCIENT runabout he tries to fish out of sometimes. I climbed aboard while bymo stayed on shore.

We stayed awhile and caught a few while stationed where we were day before hut only caught a few.

Moved to a normally good spot we picked up a few at day before and caught several more.

We had to drive back to STL so we quit at 11. I had church group dinner and bymo was heading to music at Botanical gardens with his wife.

Finished w 21. I caught most of them but gave them to bymo for his family. Along with big bags we had from day before he could have nice fry for his whole family.

Nice last minute trip with couple of our buds. We put the Band back together to good results.Name: 20230719_114418.jpg

come on out to LSL with me Jim as I am ready to go hit the docks there and we can get into some real nice size crappie. hopefully If I figure out my Lowrance side scan we can concentrate on the right ones instead of hitting them all.

BTW first time we were on this lake meat ruled the day in that any small part of a minnow on a hook had you ketchn and jigs not so much. This time couple of us started with minnows and didn't do anything while I used a red/chartruese small jig with a minnow and was ketchn while they were not. then when we moved to KABOOM two of us just had red/chartreuse jigs that we were tightlining or simply moving jig back and forth close to boat and were doing the best ketchn while minnow/bobber boy was as well but about half of our hookups.

my other two buds have been back couple of times with good success earlier this year but their two boats don't have trolling motors or electronics. would like to see how it looks with a modern bass boat with good electronics to see how many of these big schools are in this lake. don't need the big motor just a TM to explore it.

    Nice work toenails and all!

If I was was wacking them and Joe needed a bobber, well lets just say I'd be out! Even with a boat full! Right mister I need a gold hook!
