I'm sure Loomis is an awesome rod just no way I'd spend that kind of money...I have a $17 Shakespeare Micro Series 6' 6" light action rod that is the crazy good for the price..I've landed many many fish on BPS Micro Lites...but I got a Carbon Lite last year for $79 on sale and it's my favorite.....

I know its off topic of the shorter rods but, does anyone own / have experience with the bps tightline trolling rods? Looking for some decent longer rods for pulling cranks without the Loomis price.

Get the new 14 ft southern rods made for pulling cranks and pushing heavy weights when tight lining. You will not regret it. Don't you just love it when nobody answers your question.

on the expense of a rod, hear is the way is was explained to me, I said that is a lot of money to spend on a rod, Jason said you own a deer rifle, yes I said , How much did it cost, 600 dollars or so I said, Jason said how many time a year do you use it, well couple weeks a year, How many times a year will you use a fishing rod, 200 or so I said, which is the best investment for the money,,,,, worth a thought I said. Rick the crappie professor said it to Jason , and now I say it,,,, Just a thought , I still have a sam heaton too.
