    Default Coldwater River Flood

Does anyone have any experience getting out in the fields between 55 and 51 and in the far side of 55 to catch crappie? It’s high now and flooding which I’m sure some of you may know. A lot of good looking timber out there and curious if it holds fish. Thanks

I mean’t to add the ducking hunters part in there. I wouldn’t go now until all that over. Just curious is there has been fish caught out in those fields.

No sir not what I’m saying at all! You can give it a shot. Like you said public waters. But your more than likely gonna get in a confrontation doing it. And buy next weekend when season closes it will be bone dry. Provided we don’t get any more rain. Only reason it’s holding water right now is because the lake is up past the rivers banks.

Yea I know it’s due to the river getting high. I just drive by a lot and wonder to myself

With the water temps as low as they are I doubt you will find fish that shallow. Might work in the spring. Just don't go during turkey season.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

I talked to man who came to set up a new bed in the house last year. We got to talking and found out he was a crappie fisherman. He said he put in at the Coldwater ramp in early Spring and fished under the Hwy 51 bridge, even during a rain, and wore them out. There's a lot of big crappie caught there, even from the bank! And Mr. Green Jeans stays there all the time checking licenses.

Shoot man I’m catching limits in 3 foot of water right now off of Coldwater River. They are hitting good. It’s a great time to fish.
