Thanks fellas. Mississippi fishermen made a great showing.
Friday should have been my day, but I needed a net man bad.. I would have had Will with me, but in ACT your can’t switch partners and accumulate points to qualify for the championship. Switching partners is like starting a new team so I didn’t want to risk not qualifying for that. Lost some big fish at the boat and had one die that would have set me up a lot better for day 2’s changes and lighter bags.
Water started rising and got muddy and shut down the big fish bite for most everyone.
Terry and cole... they’re just a great team anywhere they go. They did a great job and it was pretty cool for them not just for them getting it done as a father/son team, but that’s where terry’s from and where he started fishing.. pretty cool to go back to your old stomping grounds and pull off the win.
John Harrison and Kent Driscoll had an extremely impressive day 2. Day one I was kinda shocked at where they were, but they figured it out and really made it happen day 2. I’m gonna say that they have a lot of experience to fast rises and water getting muddy overnight where they fish primarily and that knowledge paid off for them.
Jason and parker eichwurtzle(sp?)
Another father/son team had 2 solid days that got them a top 10 finish.
Tommy and Brad finished 14 about 3 water drops lighter than what I had.
I may be missing some other Mississippi teams just because I don’t know a lot of these teams. Overall it’s a pretty stout showing for Mississippi fishermen I thought.
The next one is at Truman and then it’s Grenada.
I encourage everyone to come fish Grenada. It’s a lot of yalls home lake and not only a chance to win a boat or some big checks, but ACT is the most enjoyable tournaments I personally have ever fished.
It’s not what I thought. I figured that the Really well known crappie fisherman would have an arrogance about them... not the case. The difference is RESPECT.
Everyone fishing is fishing.. they’re fisherman.. most are just a bunch of rednecks.. even the northern guys.. they might talk funny to us, but they got a lot of redneck in them too! Lol.
What I mean by respect is the biggest difference is anybody can talk about how they’re fishing or where they’re fishing and you don’t have worry about being swarmed on day 2.
Anywhere else I’ve ever fished if you’re catching them.. it won’t be long someone’s gonna be rubbing elbows with you.
