Default Does anybody long line with Rooster Tails?

I flat wear out the crappie on the smaller local lakes around me using Rooster Tails and an ultra light rod/reel setup, I bet they would be great for long lining or power trolling. Though with long lining you would probably be limited to only one bait tied to the end of the line, I don't think you would get good action from the blade if you had one further up the line on a loop knot like most do with jigs.
    I got 350 heads on a 305 engine.
I get 6 miles to the gallon.
I aint got no good intentions.

Line twist nightmare. Unless you tie on swivels and snaps. The rotation of the blade is a much larger circle, than say a roadrunner. Would cause it to ride really high in water column. And unless you go real slow or have heavier weight lures, depth control will be tough. Couldn’t hurt to try it tho. Just for curiosity sake

I would probably try pushing them with a weight before I tried pulling them, but no I've never done it, so can't say for sure.

Later in the fall I've always used them for spotted bass and catch crappie also. Three way swivel with a crank bait to get to desired depth and a Rooster tail on the other line. Very productive when the bait is suspended. I am on a very deep lake and haven't tried on more shallow waters. Even out of ten the Rooster tail is the target...
