I am just impressed that you got two at one time...
I just recently purchased 2 Helix 9's that are linked and I had to have two. Like Rees said, I am very impressed with the mega.
Bought my boat in February. Been hoarding change since then to rig boat. Seemed like it would be simpler to do it all at one time. New Trolling motor, charger, and fish finders. Won't be doing anything else for this boat, ever (I hope).

I just told Da Wifey what you did, and waited.... Crickets......
Bad timing for me, she is headed to Branson... I got the two units covered, but need that new trolling motor!
I'm thinking you need two...they will show waypoints, but not maps...that's. The way my setup..Helix 9, 998, and 859 works anyway
I have two Helix 10's and an Ulterra with I-link networked. They are not Mega, but have the latest software updates, and I have to have two cards. I usually run a Smartstrike card in the dash unit and a Lakemaster Plus card in the bow unit. I have tried only one card, it won't work unless I want to move the card from one unit to the other during the fishing day. I use the US2 transducer in the Ulterra for the bow depth and the SI HD transducer on the transom for SI and DI on the bow, then the SI HD for all three on the Dash unit. Love the follow the contour option the i-link gives me when pushing jigs and cranks.
