    Default NEED CAMPGROUND INFO

I am planning a trip to Sardis in the early spring, sometime between the end of January and the first of March. Are there any campgrounds open this time of the year, preferably on the water? State or Private. Any info would be appreciated.

Go to https://www.mdwfp.com/. John W Kyle state park is on Sardis. You can find info on the website and even reserve a camping site or maybe a cabin. I believe spring sites do go up fast so you might want to go ahead book shortly. There are others who go to the park regular on this site and they will probably give you info. The website will give you a starting place till someone chimes in.

You won't have any problem finding a camping spot that time of year. We have plenty below the Dam.

Sardis campgrounds are on the lower lake, below the dam. John Kyle State Park and COE campground. There's a boat ramp at each end of the upper lake. Most of us use the Engineers Point on the south end. John Kyle cabins are at the north end. There are a few other campgrounds up the lake, just takes longer to get there.

Thanks for the help guys,I really don't know anything about the lake so I'll take all I can get. I'll bringing my fifth wheel,my boat and two or three friends. We'll be wanting to catch fish and have a good time. Maybe take in a little night life if there is any around .

Night Life, I wouldn't know, I don't go out after dark here.
Grab a few brews and enjoy the campfire.

I'm sure we'll be doing plenty of the campfire thing. But was hoping there might be a little bar close by.

There's a bar on the way in from Sardis exit after you pass the cabins. I thinks it's Hilltop or something like that. But heck, why pay for a 6 pack when you can get a case for the same price.
I don't know what's in Sardis or Batesville or in the woods between the campground and Oxford.
Oxford, about 20/25 miles away from campground. Home of the University of MS, home of the Brown Bears (use to the Ole Miss Rebels) in Laugh-fayette county. Ought to be a bar with young ones there.

Not sure if this posted twice, newbie to posting on this site...

A few quick thoughts if you have never been. (I am from St. Louis and learned the hard way)
    1. No alcohol on the lake at all. They will check your boat on the boat ramp
    2. Cabins at Sardis have lake views, but it is a steep, muddy walk to get to the water from there. And if you do, its not water you would want to fish from the bank at night from. Very shallow
    3. Bring a long extension cord to charge your batteries, 100' or better. There is no trailer parking at the cabins so you will need to back your trailer in and unhook from your truck before parking your truck. (If it is busy. If not busy, parallel park and eat up 5-6 spots.)
    4. There is no power in the parking lot so you will need to run your extension cord from your cabin to the parking lot.
    5. Be prepared to spider rig. My first time there I was only drift fishing like I normally do at KY Lake. We caught 2 fish but our buddies that were spider rigging all limited out. The lake is like a big bathtub with a couple creeks running through it. Not a lot of structure unless you get very shallow, and then you have to worry about stumps.

Despite the nuances, if the fishing is on you will find none better. 16 and 17 inch fish are common.
