So my body clock refuses to let me sleep any longer at 6:14 this morning. I lay there trying to go back to sleep for a couple more hours, but my OCD just wouldn't have it. If I don't go I wont know if the front had it's normal effect, was the water cloudy, were the fish active, was the wind low like I like it......Aw hell!! get up, fix the coffee walk the dogs, hook the other woman and head over to woods. Got there about 7:30 and laft at 9:30. That in itself tells the tale. 4 spots, 2 hrs and 1 dandy white bass that was hoping was the Crappie of the century, and a short crappie. I officially hate my body clock. Hope someone did better than I did. Water was like coffee with cream, visibility about a foot. Wind was to tough to fish the open water. Thank goodness I didn't burn too much gas and can go when things improve. Maybe about late march.

Rock Creek ramp early morning saturday had trash galore for about 2 miles going toward the lower end. There were whole trees, big lots, tops, trash and thousands of leaves/branches/trash floating around. Water was also pretty much very colored. We stopped at some docks but so much trash around there was no shooting. Went to fishing blowdowns, nothing. Decided to continue going toward lower end. the further we went, the clearer the water was. We found some good clean docks to shoot but only caught a few shorts on the day. As the day went on, we just converted to a site seeing mission and we rode the lake just looking around. The big bass tourney was going on saturday so there was a good many boats on the water. This day was pretty cool on me the entire day, as I made mistake and wore tennis shoes and feet stayed cool all day. I told Tracy if we had been catching some fish, I most likely wouldnt have noticed cold feet near as bad. Was still fun getting out on water though. Did not see another MTCC member all day, although we did see a Bronco with an empty trailer in the parking lot. Next saturday may be some better if these waters recede some. The lake was back to close to summer pool again. It was amazing how much it was up in that short amount of time. It did rain a whole lot though during them 9 days.

I called a Hal on Saturday morning and he did not answer so I know he thought I was crazy about going that morning also. My better judgement go the best of me and I stayed at home.

as toby said the water around rock creek was colored pretty bad.i drove around the lake more than i ever had, from one end to the other.we tried to get some ideas for next saturdays tx.but we will just have to see what the water level is.we were going to put in at devils step, man ,it was a good thing we changed the date of our tourney.they were trucks parked all the way up the hill and on the road to the camp ground, thats the most i've ever seen at that ramp.still don't know my stragey for sat. but i guess i'll figure something out.i did notice the store at rock creek has reopened .they seem like nice folks,i'll have to try out their grille next time i'm in there.

I would have gone out, but Deb & I were out trying to find me some decent duds to go to a job interview this week.
