    Default Crappie Maiden Voyage

I'm big into walleye, but got rid of the 23' boat I had since I use my 15.5' boat a lot more. So this year I decided to start targeting crappie. I have never targeted crappie so this should be a fun year focusing more on inland lakes in instead of Saginaw Bay. Getting ready to head out on my maiden crappie voyage! Should be a blast.

Going to use a slip bobber with a minnow and cast some 1/16 oz jig with plastics.Name: 20180423_125006.jpg

    Good luck.

We hit it the other day and the water just wasn't right yet. The fish seemed to be tight lipped and out in the deeper portions. It was the first nice day we had. I said that if we could get four or five in a row, it would be just what the fish needed. Well, today marks the 5th day in a row.

I think Kevin will be out today. He said he might hit a few lakes. That should be a telltale of how things are coming along.

    Welcome!

Bassnlady went out on Lake St. Clair Saturday and got a nice bunch of crappie. She sent me pictures but hasn't posted on here with them yet. They caught all of them on Case Plastics JT's jewel jig.

    Welcome aboard.

You'll have to come up to Houghton Lake in June for Crappie camp. We need a newbie to ride Wilber the goat.

Well, Sanford Lake is very muddy and still a little cold. Maybe a foot of visibility, but had a good time. Boat is running strong and I'll be ready for this Saturday's walleye opener on the river.

Been out twice this week on two different lakes, waters too cold. Au Sable still had ice in the cuts.

Sanford lake is my old stumping ground, I have a lot of great memories in that lake.
