They keys were hugging bottom, in 3.5 foot of water.............

You've heard how our trip ended, here's the story from the beginning. Steve gave me a call on Saturday wanting to know if I'd like to meet him at Morrison Lake Sunday morning to catch some bluegills for a fish fry I have coming up in August. We decided to meet at 7am. We were both early and by 7 we were on the water motoring towards our hot spot. We dropped the trolling motor and it was only a few minutes and we were marking fish. The spot lock was activated and we started catching fish right away. They were suspended between 6 and 10 feet deep in 16 fow. I won't lie, at first I was hot, catching gills fast and furious, even pulling a couple doubles. It didn't take Steve long and he was more than holding his own. We even had a couple of triples. We fished through one short rain shower and by 11:30 or so the counter showed 40 in the live well. After a quick count we found we actually had 45 and the quest for the last 5 was on. 46-49 came fairly quickly but # 50 took a while. We both caught #50 a bunch of times but you know, when you limit out you have to quit fishing so # 50 went back in a bunch of times. Finally, after our vessel was boarded by Ginger Beard the Pirate, we decided we'd had enough and one last fish went in the box. We didn't catch any real big fish today, most were between 7 and 7 1/2 with a few pushing 8. We also had about 10 perch in the 9-10 range. We never moved from our starting spot to catch our limit. I was fishing a #10 gold hook under a slip bobber on one rod and jigging a Hali on the other. Steve was fishing a Hali under a slip bobber. Red worms were the bait of choice today. I'll leave it up to Steve to add pictures.

Hope you left some fish as my brother taking his father-in-law and myself and hauling his in-laws pontoon to Morrison Lake Wednesday in hopes of finding some Gills an Crappie. I dread getting up at 4Am to meet them in Lansing, but for fishing, I will suffer!
I thought fish trembled when they heard my name.......then I heard the laughter
There's plenty left. Try the east basin, you should be able to mark schools suspended around 10 feet down. Once you find them it's usually easy to get them to bite. Hope you catch a bunch.
Ginger Beard the Pirate.... dang that's funny!
I got a few pics to add, fishing was so busy I just didn't take many.
I was glad to get a chance to try out the "bikini" top that came with my boat, its tall enough to stand under to fish.... the one I had on my old boat wasn't so I never used it.
It was a great day to be on the water, or in it
I need to remember to pack a empty jug.....
Thanks for the salmon fillet too, Ginger Beard err,.....I mean Aaron that was very thoughtful and generous of you

Were you able to mark those keys with side scan?
I would have at least side scanned a picture of Jerry in in the water. You got to use all the tricks in your electronics arsenal!

Hey Steve, when I got home I checked ebay and found a good deal on a couple of those plastic urinals they have in hospitals. I bought them both and they should be here by the time we go fishing again. I'll bring one for you to keep in your boat and the other one will go in my boat. Now if I can find something, other than my toes, to retrieve keys from the bottom of the lake I'll be set. I'll double the thanks to GB the P for the salmon. It's going on the grill tonight.
I would of but the first thing I needed to do was stop laughing on the inside. Fishing with those two is like a Laurel & Hardy movie.....
The entertainment alone for #50 was worth the trip.
Steve "Is this big enough?"
Jerry "Nah, toss it back"
Steve "You sure...?"
Jerry "I got another lets see if its bigger" Immediate Toss back
Steve "How big was that one?"
Jerry "I don't know, but I got another one your wrecking my Mojo"
Steve "How many times we gonna catch 50?"
Jerry "Hold on I can't talk I go another one"
Steve "Since when can't you talk you never shut up"
Jerry "Hey Oneida, how many you got already?"
Aaron "I got my two last night, they equal MORE than yours"
Steve "What about today"
Jerry "You two knock it off, I got another one"
Steve "I got another one, Nah to small" Immediate toss back
Jerry "Hey mine was bigger, I tossed it back you two are distracting me.
Steve "Aaron come look my Graph!"
We should make a list of what Jerry can & CANNOT Catch.
I will start us off.....
NOT CATCH
KEYS
Can Catch
Gills
Perch
Common Cold

Here is the TRUE STORY...........
Funny thing, when at Rose Lake, Steve came to the dock to ask for my keys to back my truck in. Abby was "about" to toss them to Steve when I decided that it was not in either of our best interest to do so!
You and Jerry must have shopped at the same hat store. I will say though that he has you in the "legs" department. Look at those milky white legs!!!
Must have been a site to behold. Ginger beard with his milky white legs, Steve with his "bikini" top, and Jerry trying to toe fish keys out of the lake!
