It certainly appears that especially in some of the shallower lakes the spawn is right on the horizon. Water temps are right there in many of them.

Made it out last night for a few hours, it was a little rough for my small boat trying troll along the break line.
Had a hot spot to try and it started out good pullig in fish after fish then it shut down and I could not buy a bite.

Water temp was 63 degrees all fish that I caught were males

the DNR was doing a survey so they had nets all over the lake and you had to watch out where you were going

    All fish were released

    Greetings all,
Just a quick update. Today is 5/15 and I'm back home with a new Aortic bovine Valve in my heart and a 4 inch scar on my chest. All is going well the operation was a success and now all I have to do is heal up for a couple months. Gonna have time ro respool some reels and get everything ready to go. Doctor said the valve crumbled to dust when it hit the air, it was really bad, worse than they thought. Thank you all for all the prayers. I'm pome bound for a month and just have to be real careful what I do until this heals. I am amazed and the skills of the Doctore, Nurses, and medical staff at Toledo Hospital cardiac unit and all the prayer warriors who were lifting the surgeons up to accomplish this. Thank you all again for the prayers.
    Grace be with you all,

Good to hear Mike. I was just wondering about you the other day while I was down in your neck of the woods.

My grandfather had the exact same surgery in the 1960's. At the time, they said it would only last about 15 to 20 years. He lived 45 more years before he passed at the age of 96. Do what the Dr's say, and don't over extend yourself. If you need help, ask for it. I know we are proud sometimes and like to do things on our own however, there is a difference between what we know we can do and what we should do.

Let me know when you are ready to go fishing. We can always head to Lake Erie!!

Excellent news Mike. I bet that's a big weight off the family's mind. It is amazing what the medical profession can do now days. Heal well and we'll keep y'all in our prayers.
