    Default Braid for Spider Rigging

Any of you folks use braid for spider riggin' poles? I'm using 14ft. rods with 6.b mono and a leader set up currently with no complaints, but just curious as to what others use.

    Thanks!! Cheers!!

Why do you prefer mono leader vs fluro leader?

Just a personal preference, but I use 10 to 12# mono for my reels. I usually tie my rigs with 15# Seaguar fluorocarbon. I've tried braid for rigs and didn't like, tangles can be a nightmare. The only thing I use braid for is single pole fishing or on my line counters for pulling crankbaits.

Running 8-10lb mono on my spider rigs. Really only because braid freezes up bad when I'm spider rigging late season here. If I was in a different climate I would try braid full time. I love using braid.

That was a miss on my part, i actually do use a flouro leader... mono to the reel and a flouro leader.

Looks like braid for line to reel is not favorable thus far.

    Thanks all!!

I tried braid once for spider rigging on my 14 ft. rods. It wrapped around the tips very badly. I took it off after 3 trips. I use 10 lb. mono for main line and make my rigs with 6 lb. mono.Name: image (4).jpg

Thanks for the feedback folks... I think i'll keep what i've been rolling with!! Seems like braid is more trouble than it's worth!

I use braid spider rigging! Don’t really have an issue with it. I do use a fluoro leader, but never really had many tangles! I love the strength of braid! Just me tho.
