Hate it buddy deeply for ya. I’m too glad Camo wasn’t present. However Camo would have stalked over and beat the fire out. That was a crazy cat. Camo, a pulled pin hand grenade covered in fur!

Bud I have always left the breaker on to my compressor and just close the ball valve. Well the breaker is off now.

I just don’t have the right words. So sorry to hear of this. Thankful that no one was hurt. We can’t take it with us but this is a terrible way for it to go away. My prayers to you and the Mrs Doug.

I woke up Thursday morning, the day of my first guide trip of the season, with the hope that my luck would change and a good day could be had.

With the new boat in the rear-view mirror, I headed to Blood River on Ky Lake. I had 4 lane highway to within about 7 miles of my launch point. When I got onto the narrow 2lane road, I went about a mile and out jumps a bunny rabbit…. Crunch!! One bunny and 4 lucky rabbit’s feet squashed in the pavement! OH well, it can’t get worse. About 3 miles later, what happens? Bunny number two makes his first and last visit to a tandem axle boat trailer. Squash! No need to wonder how that ended. Four more lucky rabbit feet in the pavement.

OK, now that was over. It was time to get the boat ready for the trip. That all went fine. My clients showed up and we ran to our first spot. I turn on all the electronics, drop the trolling motor, get my remote and PRESTO! My remote locks up just as the motor comes up to speed in a 90 degree turn! Luckily I had installed shut off switches for my trolling motor and all electronics on the side of my console. I was able to get control of the situation finally and spent the rest of the trip running my Ultrex I Link off my Helix 12. Thank goodness for One Boat Network! My tracks on my Helix screen would have been the envy of a battleship full of drunk sailors.

The trip wasn’t a total loss, we caught some nice crappie, and my clients had a good time. Good enough that they are booking again in May.

My remote is still crapped out and I’ve had to cancel a rain-soaked windy trip Saturday. I’ll hopefully get things fixed next week.

The job of trying to remember the inventory of my tools, supplies and such from the shop begins now.

Sometimes when it rains it pours. Sorry for the string of bad luck but things will get better. Hang in there Doug.
