    Without a bite? That's a long time!

I have a couple 13' Jenko's I like but interested what others say for 14 footers or super light models. MY 13' are 2 piece are most all longer rods 3 piece?

If the rod/reel are balanced correctly, a 14' jigging outfit will strain you much less over the course of a days fishing. Biggest problem I have with 14' rods is that most of them require a pretty heavy reel to balance them out. (it also makes the whole outfit heavy)

I use the 12' BnM Diamond Series rod, which in itself is a very light rod. I paired it with a Okuma Stratus STX 20 spinning reel and it balances at about 6" above the front end of the handle. Not the best balance point IMHO, but I haven't tried using some of my other spinning reels (that may be slightly heavier than the Okuma) to see if they will balance out better. And I've tried several times to find the weight of the Okuma, to compare it against other reels, but haven't had any luck.

(* disclaimer - I don't use this outfit to vertical jig with, it's my single pole Livescope flippin' double jigs outfit)

B/M "Sam Heaton " best I found " but if you boat flip fish stay away from B/M . unless you go to a pole vault rod for live scope .

I have the Lews speed stik 14ft. two piece wally marshall signature and the b&m diamond series 14 footer two piece .I am old but I am able to fish all day with either of these poles. The two piece rods are just easier to deal with in the boat. The Lews rod probably has more backbone but the b&M might be a hair lighter.

I agree with Pappy’s posting about the BnM Black Diamond. Awesome rod that I have rigged with a BnM Pro 100 reel. It balanced well for me.

You have the black diamond? I've been looking at them but I think they might be to much to handle in my kayak.

Correction .... I have the BLUE Diamond Series rod, not the BLACK Diamond Series.

I have the “Blue” Diamond Series 14’ by BnM and its lite. I wouldn’t boat flip with it for Big Slabs but it doesn’t kill my arms and shoulders after fishing with it. It doesn’t feel like a broom stick in my hands like some others I’ve used. I have a cheap baitcaster on the rod as a line holder. It’s quite sensitive for its length. I also like the added hump on the reel seat that’s contours to your hand.

I am looking for a 12' rod. Have the Sam Heaton with a 1000 series reel. After using it yesterday for 6 hours my shoulder was killing me. Is the Ultra -Lite a lesser weigt rod than the sam heaton? Are they lighter than the ACC 12' crappie stix? I tried to contact B & M today but could never talk to anyone.
