    Default Livescope Battery

I'm just installing livescope on my boat and have a question or two about the battery and charger. From what i've seen on line, the Amped outdoors batteries seem to be a popular brand. I was looking to go to the 48ah battery but wasn't sure which charger should i get? 3 amp or 10 amp? Does it matter?

Also, if i went with another brand like Dakota or Ionics, can i use a regular trickle charger to charge the battery with? They have chargers on the ionics website but they are much more expensive.

Any advise is greatly appreciated. Tight lines all. Thanks, hvychev77

Make sure your charger is for charging lithium ion batteries. Impulse Lithium is a site sponsor and is offering a 15% discount to Crappir.Com members. Message or call them for more info.

The charger has to be able to charge lithium batteries. From what I have read most manufacturers void the warranty unless there chargers are used.

That makes sense. Thanks for the replies. I was looking at the ionics and the amped outdoors. The amped outdoors battery charger is much cheaper than the ionics brand. Not sure if there's much of a difference between them or not?

I have the Amped 48AH battery for my livescope set up! I went with the 10AH charger because I wanted to be able to get my battery recharged as quick as possible. If you go the Amped route, you will be very happy with it, I am!

    Good luck on your decision.

I have ionic 50Ah and i use noco charger with lithium mode, they said it was okay so that is what I got as i also wanted to put my starting battery on it.

5A charger will charge your battery from completely dead in roughly 10 hours, and a 10A will be half the time. For most people, 5A will be plenty as you can plug it in overnight.

Make sure you get a battery with Bluetooth so you can monitor the level and charge status with your phone. You dont want to be guessing how much battery you have or how long until it's charged.

Definately has to be a charger capable of charging Lithiums. They charge higher at 14+ volts.
