It will be much easier to just buy a stringer and remove the snaps you want. Stringers are pretty cheap.
anybody know where I can find the type of snaps that are on fish stringers - just the snaps, not the whole stringer?

I buy those cheap chain stringers for the clips. Then I use big split rings to add clips to a cable stringer to make a stringer that will hold a limit of 15 here in our Mo. waters.

This is how I made them with a cable stringer. Use them in my livewell, can't miscount number of fish, never over the limit. Usually is not my problem to deal with anyway. Lol.

I have a crimper for cable and cut and recrimp cable. Most farm supply stores have the crimps. Garage door suppliers would recrimp cable for you.

Also talk to Jarad at Everhart's in Clinton. He was going to see if anyone made such a stringer. He would carry them at the store if he could get them.

Memphis Net and Twine or perhaps Jann's Netcraft or other net makers should have snaps.
Turtles around here feast on stringer fish. I use a wire basket when I dock fish or sometimes when out in Jon boat.
