While the motor is trimmed up grab the lower unit and lift, if it moves more than 3/8" it may be getting soft!

Look for a Ranger R70 around 95 model or so. Price with a 115 or 90 hp should be 6,000 or so. Will have front and rear livewells. Pultruded fiberglass transom and fiberglass encapsulated deck. Will carry three batteries and 24 gallons of fuel. If you can find one with a good Johnson v4 on it so much the better. Will not run huge wake water as well or as fast as a 19 to 20 ft but its just as safe. Also will have a ranger trail trailer with U channel construction, heavy axle and bearings.

You will not find a safer, longer lasting, more durable boat for the money. You get caught in a storm on a big lake ,you drive smart you will get home.

You find a garage queen you got something. Also...good Ranger 373V model. Won't have front livewell though.
This is old you tube post but will show you one.

I've got a friend that's got a '94 Ranger R70 for sale with a 115 Johnson that's always been in garage or covered it's located in north west Alabama.

I have an older 94 Tracker and put a new motor on it in 2016. I was talking to 2 different dealers and both did this to make sure the transom was sound before they would even quote me.
The transom should be solid without flex or I would walk away.
