Hello all!
I'm new here and new to crappie fishing in general. I've picked up several over the years as by catch, but would like to pursue them intentionally. In an effort to learn more about the gear I should be acquiring, I'd like to ask a question.
My question for those of you with more experience than me is: What is something you won't crappie fish without?
Hello! Welcome to the forum.
So, sarcastically I want to say rod, reels, and hooks. But realistically, I’d say: as many colors of jigs as possible. You never know what they will want on any given day. Best to have a wide variety. So the one thing I can’t crappie fish without is... options. Lol

I would say Hi vis line...Last year I got some new baitcasters for my rigging rods and they came with clear Stren on them,so I figured I would leave it on.That turned out to be a mistake because I couldn't hardly see it,had trouble tying on,untangling it,and I know I missed out on bites where the line just moved or twitched.I took those rods off the boat after that trip, stripped that line off,put on Hi vis and was good to go from there
