    I installed chicken wire around the garden and use the guts to fertilize the soil. a couple critters have tried climbing the chicken wire and failed. So far so good. The garden is thriving also. I bury the guts under the areas I walk. When I replant the rows will be shifted on top of those areas.

    If I'm fishing the next day, I put them back in lake. If not, I put them in a creek or pond nearby.

    If you toss fish parts in the water It's called stream littering in my state ( Wv ) but if you put fish parts on a hook,it's called fishing......
    I save some parts ( the head. ) for cut bait,the rest I donate to the scavengers on the back 40.
