Safe travels moving south. Don't get snow bound up there.

Knock on wood....we haven't had any snow storms yet and the ground (or the water) is not frozen. This has been a pretty mild fall/early winter season for us - so far!

Good luck on the move. Come summer you will be complaining on how hot it is.

Ed I know where you were living as I used to live in the same place(Lindenhurst) Almost 28 years ago we moved to N.C. and haven't looked back. We closed on a Monday, movers brought with them three foot of snow. that was the last of that. Now we get some snow here on the border of Va. and N.C. but not starting in Oct. and ending in May. I feel your pain brother.

Holy Cow! Its a hurricane? Someone alert the weather center! They missed that one! And flooding too? Dang it man! Totally missed that one when I was outside mowing my grass in shorts and T shirt.

On a serious note. You are pretty much guaranteed many many days freezing temps, snow, and summer heat approaching ours. Granted your heat does not last months like ours but still hot. Hurricanes are predictable, somewhat, and not guaranteed to happen multiple times a year. Flooding, not very often or too bad except during a hurricane or tropical storm. Heat in summer is uncomfortable but we can go swimming or hop in a pool. Temps in teens and below are just painful and miserable exposed to weather. Yes you can go inside and sit by a fire but so can we, we just do it outside with a pig above the fire. You can keep your ice, snow and freezing temps, I will stick with occasional hurricane that I can leave for 3 days and come home and the not so very often flooding.

And one last thing, we use our boats 12 months a year. Dont have to sit in them in a garage making motor noises and pitching jigs in a bucket.
