    Default The spawn?

I'm new to chasing the sacalait and I've been reading and watching videos non stop. I see the articles and they say when water temp gets in the 50s they start to move shallow water and spawn. My question is, does that only happen when the water warms back up in Feb-March or any time the water temps gets into the 50s, like right now in southern LA?

Only in the spring. The time is a little earlier down south than from here in central La. Not sure when your area is, but ours starts on most lakes from the last of Feb thru sometimes the first of June. Depends on the depth of the lake or river and how fast it warms up. Normally 62-65 degrees, but some lakes like Claiborne do it when it's a lot cooler.

The folks say a full moon. Day length matters too. I don't pay it much mine. I just go when I can.
