I had to google Benton, I didn't know where it was at. There is some C.C members up in that area but hadn't herd much from them lately they must be catching and have lockjaw. Also check the Tx. board they had a few posts from Lake O Pines good luck and welcome.

I'm in the Benton area, but haven't been fishing since June 15th. The heat just takes the fun out of it for me.

I've been night fishing lake ivan and dorcheat. Doing decent on shiners on ivan. Been wanting to try cypress or black bayou. I did see a guy had a nice mess off black bayou a week or so back.

When you're night fishing, are you hitting a deeper area, shallow area, or somewhere in between?

I find a top that's got some fish and bait around it. Drop my lights about 2 to 3ft. And wait on the bait to come up to my lights and the perch are usually about 6 to 7 ft deep right out of the light. I usually have baits out 5 to 7 ft.
I've had my best nights in 15 ft of water. Just make sure the moon is not out in full force, fishing seems to be slower because of the available ambient light.

What I've found out so far. This is my first year trying night fishing. I've had some really good nights and not so good.
